About Ultrasounds
Is it safe?

Ultrasounds have been safely used in obstetrics for over 35 years. However, you may want to speak with your doctor before the scan.

Do I need an appointment?

Ultrasounds are scheduled by appointment only.

When is the best time to have an ultrasound?
The best time to obtain 3D images is 26-32 weeks of pregnancy. For "full figured" women, we recommend waiting until 30 weeks to have pictures taken.

What will determine the quality of the images?
1. Position of the baby: Some babies are "ready for action". Others turn away, not wanting to be seen. We will do all we can to encourage the baby into a position for clear images. A straight-on face view in 3D/4D is not very common. We encourage you to enjoy all aspects of your baby.

2. Maternal tissue: If mom has more tissue, the images will have less contrast. We recommend our full-figured moms wait until later in their pregnancy to obtain ultrasound images.

3. Fetal Activity: The best 3D/4D images come from a still or sleeping baby. The best videos come from the active baby.

What form of payment is accepted at Beginnings?
